GarryR3148 My 21 year old son helped me select this radio for my F350 diesel knowing how much I love the iPhone. The start up is a little slow but not a problem for me and the reason I purchased this unit was to have a hands free phone unit a charger GPS radio and iPod music. Pioneer has updated the software for the iPhone and the radio unit since I purchased it a couple of months ago and it is now a wonderful radio and meets my expectations. The hands free phone is clear both talking and listening and the sound through the speakers is easy to hear. It can be setup for auto answer or just touch the icon and it will answer the radio mutes and the caller ID displays number and name of the contact if they are in your phone. The radio also displays recent calls missed calls dialed calls and you can even play your voice mail through the radio.
So glitchy it is dangerous. I almost never review anything but this product is so incredibly glitchy and inconsistent in its behavior that it is dangerous to have in the car because it is a nonstop distraction. Every single application has some kind of serious glitch or behavior inconsistency that will have you constantly fiddling with the phone or suffering with the thing not working. Furthermore every time Pioneer updates the software they manage to introduce new bugs without really killing off the old ones.Before I give a few examples I'll note that the two third party AppRadio compatible applications I use are the MotionX GPS navigation program and Pandora.
Biggest Waste of $450 I've had this radio for over a month and I hate it. I plan to rip it out of my car this weekend and toss it. Yes it looks nice but it's crap.Here are the issuesInstallation is a huge pain it had it professional installed which usually only takes an hour to do. This one took seven hours.Only works when you plug your phone into the cord unless you want to listen to regular radio and use no apps. Also the main screen will occasionally lock up on the start screen and nothing can be accessed.The switch to allow you to use the radio i.e. simply change the radio station while you're driving often doesn't work unless you stop and put the car in park. I installed a rely switch that I can flip to bypass the sensor but sometimes it doesn't work either.If the switch does manage to work you first have to unlock your phone open the app on your phone then open it on the radio in order to change the station. You have to do this even if the car is in park.If your phone doesn't have service you have no radio. If the service isn't three bars are higher the apps will constantly stop workingThree times in the past two weeks the radio has froze on the backup camera screen. Let's be clear I'm not talking about the image freezing while I'm backing up. I mean the car is in drive and the back up camera won't turn off which means you can't use the radio or any apps. The only way I've been able to fix it is to unwire the camera and wire it again.If you have an iphone and you want to use a different smartphone you can't unless you switch out the plug. This becomes a huge pain if your sig other borrows the car for a day.
The more I use it the more I love it I do not understand why this radio has some bad reviews but I wanted to write my own experience out just in case someone has doubts about this particular model radio. I bought mine a few weeks ago and to be honest was not quite impressed with it at first.
A day in the life of an App Radio user Every day that I have to drive somewhere I feel pangs of disappointment about my Pioneer AppRadio. What could have been a really killer app is just a source of frustration. On paper AppRadio has all the promise of the Ford Sync indash bluetooth system. In practice it falls short in every possible way. Here's a a walk through of what endure every time you turn the ignition1. Get in your car and connect the smartphone an iPhone in my case to rigid cable coming out of the radio. Wait 30 seconds for the selfserving animation on the screen to play through. As owners of the AppRadio we are subjected to Pioneer's AppRadio advertisement every time we turn the key.2. The first of four warnings pops up with a caution telling you how bad an idea it would be to actually to use your App Radio while you're driving. Press buttons and eventually the first of three warning dialogue goes away.3. A second prompt comes up asking you to unlock your iPhone and reconnect it when it's safe and lawful to do so4. After unlocking and reconnecting a third prompt comes up explaining that viewing of front seat video source while driving is prohibited. What does that mean? Are they afraid you're going to view a video podcast? I hadn't thought to try it but the prompt made me realize that there must be a way to watch video while driving. It goes on to tell you that you need to apply your parking break release it apply it again and press OK. This gets you nowhere literally. Even after going through these machinations the App Radio still doesn't give you access to the Apps During all this it's blocking you from even listening to the radio.04.
Just what I expected If you have trouble working a radio with knobs and a dial dont get this radio and complain about it. It does what it's supposed to do but it can be frustrating to someone who can't work it.
good idea gone wrong I had this radio was a good idea but it has a lot of problems. First problem I had was the radio would completely lock up if i was on the phone when before the bluetooth would conect. I would have to restset the radio all the time to get it to work again. Then there are not alot of useful apps that work with this radio. The Gps the outdated with lots of location missing. The sound is bad compaired to what you get with another unit of the some price range. All in all it just a bad raido save your money.
crAppRadio comes with crappy service too. I purchased this radio in late August of 2011. Now it is late April so 8 months ago. I knew that the radio was a new thing and had a lot of glitches but being a diehard iPhone fan I sprung for it. I dealt with the glitches the freezing and the poor interface very well. Unfortunately however the cord that connects the iPhone to the unit went bad. It was a gradual thing first the AppRadio display would be pink and green because the iPhone connection was faulty. Soon I would need to attempt to connect and reconnect the phone over and over before the radio would see it.
An adventure through inconvenience and poor quality! My goodness where do I begin? My experience with the Pioneer AppRadio is very bittersweet and not the best story I'm afraid.I purchased my unit from Best Buy brand new and factoryfresh and it was professionally installed in my sports car. I purchased an extra dedicated iPhone 4 just for use with this AppRadio and I had a really professionalquality mount installed into the dashboard for a more permanent installation of the iPhone 4 which would be completely dedicated to running this new AppRadio.Needless to say I was very excited. I will say that the installation team at Best Buy in Little Rock were extremely knowledgeable and very professional and friendly and took the extra measure to do a really nice installation.Only two weeks into having the AppRadio the screen went completely dead. Black zilch nothing. Of course I was heartbroken and quite upset about it. I called Pioneer technical support and they were rather lackluster in assisting me and were really of no help. Luckily the installation at Best Buy carries a lifetime warranty for as long as I own the stereo and this vehicle so I went back. Surely I figured something simple like a blown fuse or perhaps a loose wire would be the culprit. No big deal!Well I was sorely mistaken. They took the unit out and set it up on their workbench and it would not power on no matter what they did. The unit was completely and utterly dead. Unfortunately there were no more AppRadios in stock in any of the stores I purchased one of the last they had since Pioneer was releasing the new AppRadio 2 which was both iOS and Android compatible. So they could not just give me another one.I was told that I would have to send my unit into Pioneer for repair and they would either repair it or send me a REFURBISHED UNIT which really upset me but after thinking about it as long as it WORKS and still carries the full warranty then I don't care. But now the story is just starting to get interesting.I became rather acquainted with the staff at Best Buy because of my constant shopping there I am a computer engineer and I am always in there for SOME thing or other and I was taken aside and told in confidence that just about every single Pioneer AppRadio that they had sold had all been returned with the same fate. There is an inherent design or quality flaw in the production of these units and they ALWAYS die very quickly. They had taken so many back in it was ridiculous! WHAT?? How could Pioneer let such a horrible product out on the market? I suppose they figure it was too late and they would just fix them as they go.. VERY bad business practice!I was utterly angry at this point. I only had this unit for TWO WEEKS.
Great idea horrible execution The Pioneer App Radio looked like the ideal system for my new truck it's sleek sexy. If you're willing to cough up another $250 you can add a backup camera that automatically kicks in when the vehicle is in reverse a feature I love on my Toyota Prius as well as the ability to keep an eye on your trailer while driving ideal for a truck. Add to that a seamless integration with my iPhone 4 and seemed like a dream come true.Except that it doesn't work very well. At all.As many other reviewers have pointed out even after the latest firmware upgrade the unit frequently locks up and won't respond to anything short of actually turning your car off and restarting it. Just by itself this is completely unforgivable.There's also this the AppRadio App itself feels like a trap to get you to install several applications that Pioneer has partnered with and most of these apps cost money AND require paid subscriptions. Most iPhone owners I know already have popular apps that fill these functions and many of them are free.

Wonderful Great Value Let me start out by saying that I had never installed a car radio before this one. However I was able to successfully install this in my GM car even though it is not 'officially supported'.If your car is not officially supported be ready to possibly trim your dash or bezel with some type of high quality precision tool. I did that trimmed the dash cover with a pair of plier cutters. The radio was able to then fit perfectly in my car after of course connecting the wires to a radio harness plug especially made for the make and model of my car and also custom cutting the radio holding brackets.As another reviewer mentioned there is a safety mechanism which prevents the DVD player to work while the brown parking brake wire is not grounded. Use this information to hack out this feature at your own risk to allow DVD's to be played even while driving.For those of you wondering what video format the player reads on the SD card it expects a *.mpeg filename encoded with the mpeg2video codec this is the same codec used in DVDs.

Pleased with the Pyle PLDN70U 7Inch My second DVD touchscreen receiver to install this year. The Pyle PLDN70U unit works as described. The screen is difficult to view with the sun to your back. The motorized screen seems strong and assures confidence. Limited audio adjustment. If you intend to drive a subwoofer and four interior speakers this may not be the best choice. Read the owners manual before purchasing to make sure you able to configure the outputs to your design requirements. Best deal out there for less than $200.
Great for the price My girlfriend brought this for me as a gift and Ive fallen in love with it. Installation was simple I just had to adjust it a few times to get it into my factory position. Once started up it was great ok screen compared to those crappy ones ive seen on ebay ie eonon. DVD's look amazing on this thing I have it set so I dont need the emergency brake engaged to watch movies and found myself looking down a few times to admire the screen. The build quality seems fine and works nicely when putting in and ejecting a cd. It will take you a little while to configure it to get the sound just right. Im running 2 door speakers 2 back panel speakers 2 factory dash mounted tweeters and one sub and it sounds really nice. Wish is had settings to control the bass of the sub but for the price I cant really complain. It has 50 million ports to run tv's connect your ipod/phone or any other music device. Only thing that was bad is the usb port in the back needs to be capped or taped off because if it touches metal it will spark and possibly short something out. I highly recommend this if you want a cheap but nice dvd receiver.
Great unit for the money I have now had this installed in my xB for about 3 weeks now. Installation was easy and straight forward. Like other posts you may have to alter the dash piece a little in order for this to fit in correctly and that is what I had to do. I just used a dremel with a sanding bit to sand down the dash piece a little so that it would fit.Deck works great and sounds great. I went from a Pioneer AVIC D2 to this unit and of course I did lose some features but at the same time I did gain some as well.Blue tooth works awesome. I love having the ability to stream music from my phone to the head unit micro sd cards are much cheaper than a ipod so that works awesome. I haven't gotten any complaints about the call quality so I assume the phone portion of it works great. Blue tooth automatically connects to my phone as soon as I enter the car.USB flash drive works flawlessly as well. There are some minor issues here that more or less bug me but overall it works great. For example what bugs me is that you are unable to set the usb to shuffle songs that are on the flash drive. Usb is great though since usb drives are so cheap now you can get a 4gb and fill it with music and you have songs for days to listen to. Navigating folders and songs works but is limited. What I mean here is that this deck does not list the folders alphabetically. When you have a lot of folders you have to scroll through all of them until you find the folder you are looking for rather then being able to do it by name. Lastly the only issue I have encountered here is that if you have pictures on your flash drive and you select one of them by accident it's kind of a pain to get back to the folder structure to play music 'cause once the picture appears it begins playing all the pictures on your flash drive like a slideshow. If the ebrake bypass isn't in then you essentially just get a blue screen until you engage the ebrake. All in all outside these little quirks that I have encountered the usb port works awesome.

Awesome if you install right and not ignorant. plays mp4s off of my usb drive and plays burned movies while driving. For a cheap double din touch screen its great! The sound is pretty dang good for how cheap this thing is I never new my speakers had a little bump in them until I hook this puppy up! I rate it 5 stars because it does everything it says and is exactly as described. If you get a defective unit then I'd have it replaced or buy a new one and try again or dish out $400$1000 on a better one.
Do not buy this.. Ok i did not read the reviews and now i wish i would have.. It looks ok but not great in my 2005 chevy silverado.. hooked up farily easy but thats were the good stuff stops..turn it on and it sucks it has less audio controls than my stock cd player.. no background images just a blue screen what is up with that.. just leason to the reviews and dont buy this product everything i have seen boss produce has been crap..
Like it alot! The first unit order was crap so I sent it back and got another. Shiping was great and simple no cost to return *other than time. second unit is great it works vary well for the price was surprise! Sounds great with my ford fusion factory speakers plenty of power and monitor is awesome as well. 3 mos.
I Just Dont Understand!! Got this system yesterday.. had it installed today and while sitting at the audio shop a cd worked and dvd worked.. went to buy the new Carter IV by Lil Wayne and the disc will not play.. tried different cds and dvds and nothing works.. i cannot connect any USB item ipod or hard drive.. tried to buy something cheap and cheap it seems is what i got.. brand new system and it wont play a brand new CD.. never heard of anything like it!! i will review the BOSS website as well!! I wouldnt purchase this item..
Good This product is easily installed and uninstalled. My husband has had to put this is 4 vehicles so far. The only thing he was disappointed in is this product does not come with the equipment needed to use some of the functions navigation.All in all he is thrilled with this product. He watches DVD's in his car on his lunch breaks at work.

touch screen stopped working I installed this in a customers car and 2 days later the touch screen stopped working. Reset doesn't fix.it and the usb doesn't work. ugly interface and radio channels aren't clear. What a piece of crap.

just buy a simple stereo like a lot of people after my orininal stereo broke down i wanted to get a new stereo with GPS and vedio together so i bought this product. but the reality dont work out that way. at first everything is good. i am happy the only problem i have is sometimes the stereo got disconnected with my ipod so i have to reselect the AV mode to fix it. less than 2 month after i bought this product GPS is broken it says on the screen waiting for valid signal. it took it a long time to find the signal no kidding 20 mins and above. in some cases even after i get to my destination it's still searching how ridiculous is that. so i spend another 150 to buy a separate GPS. what really pisses me off is now even the audio now dont work right. it constantly get disconneected from the device which is very anonying. i dont know what causes the problem but it is very unpleaseant.
When it works it's amazing! I bought a refurbished unit and after installing it quickly discovered hardware problems. The navigation worked 10% of the time and otherwise had blinding white lines on the screen. I sent the unit in to be repaired because they were out of replacements and they sent it back still broken.

I'm pretty happy Okay sorry to say..but I love this head unit. Let me first say that this is the first LCD head unit I did not get stock with a vehicle though. I had a JBL premium sound LCD in my 2008 Limited 4Runner and thought it was okay. This Sony HU blows it away. Tom Tom GPSEasy to use and easily updatable on your PC. The JBL unit I had with my Toyota required me to buy a new Nav CD every year for about $270! I have owned a Garmin and place the Tom Tom far above it as well. Ease of use and features are great. BluetoothWhat a difference this one is over my last 3 systems. I mounted my microphone at the left corner of my windshield and I have yet to get one complaint on my voice clarity or volume yet.
No ssues whatsoever I purchased this product 2 weeks ago from Car Toys. The package came within 3 days and was ready for install right away. I drive a 2007 Cadillac CTS so i also needed to purchase the Metra 40VW10 10Inch VW Antenna Adapter $8 Metra 992006 Installation Kit $29 and Metra GMOS10 harness $75. Everything arrived quiickly and i was ready for install within 4 days. Best Buy was backed up on appointments for a week so I reviewed the local August shops and chose Lawson's. They were fast efficient and only $125. it was done in 1 day on a first come first serve basis. The screen itself is amazing. The bluetooth is flawless and with the microfone installed up near the driver's sun visor the phonecalls are clearer than with my actual phone. The navigation has been spot on so far. I have had no issues with the maps loading or poor signal as some have suggested.
Absolutely Amazing The Sony XNV660BT is my favorite radio yet. The display looks great! Tom Tom GPS is very accurate and I added the Backup Camera and Sirius Radio too. I love the iPhone interface. This is very easy to use and worth every penny. I was uncertain at first whether I would like that the Tom Tom Module was external. But I just installed it in my glove Box so I can eject it easily for updates. It's the best out there.
Great Head Unit Some Areas For Improvement I've had this installed on my car for a little over six months now and on the whole I like the Sony Head Unit. Although there are definitely some areas for improvement the unit has been working great for me overall.Here's What I LikeTomTom GPS is fantastic. This is one of the main reasons I choose this unit. If you have one of their newer portable GPS's this behaves just like that with advance lane guidance and everything. If you are playing music while using the GPS whenever it goes to tell you the next turn it will lower the music in the background say the directions and then return the music to its original volume.Bluetooth music streaming works well. I have it synced with my iPhone so every time I turn on my car the Sony will search and connect to my phone. I can select which music to play using the iPhone and have it play throughout the speakers in my car.
Excellent Navigation Unit I have this unit installed in my Audi A6. Originally I planned to install it myself. That was foolish. I ended up paying a local place to do it for me and I'm very glad I did. It is a very intensive install especially with all the accessories Steerwing wheel control hookup/programming powered antenna GPS unit Ipod control etc Anyway about the unit.
Very Very Good The Sony XNV660bt is an excellent purchase for your money.I gave the Sony XNV660bt four stars because HD radio is not included.
Garbage!!! I received the Sony XNV660BT in July for a birthday gift. I had it installed and it worked great for about a month. After that it went downhill FAST! Here it is six months later and I am paying to have it uninstalled AGAIN to send back for repairs AGAIN. The first GPS wouldn't get a signal. I had just the GPS and antenna replaced that time. After putting the new GPS and antenna in it worked for one day then quit working again. Also at that time the touch screen started to have lines across it and it quit responding to touch commands. I paid to have the entire unit uninstalled and sent back. They repaired the unit and sent it back to me. I paid to have it installed again. I drove off and the GPS now will sometimes get a signal but it loses it quickly and the screen goes from color to black and white plus only half the screen will respond to touch commands. I now am getting ready to pay to have the unit uninstalled again only to send it back in to have it repaired again. I am done with Sony I want my money back and I refuse to EVER purchase another Sony product again. Do not bother with this product you will be very disappointed.UPDATE 1/24/2012I am now on my 4th GPS unit and sending my entire unit back AGAIN for repairs. Sony REFUSES to replace my unit. I was informed yesterday on the phone that they will ONLY continue to repair the unit until they are no longer required to due to the 1 year warranty expiring. Horrible customer service. Terrible product. I've even had the install verified by another installer just to ensure that it was done properly which it was. Sony refuses to stand by their crappy product instead they screw over their customers stating they repair their inferior products. Don't waste your time don't bother with their products.

I love this head unit I've been a Pioneer products user for many years. I firmly believe that dollar for dollar they are a super great value. Not only that but their products are reliable and provide great service for a long long time.This is my first double din unit I did some research and also considered other brands. Again for the price features etc. I decided for the AVH4300 and I am very pleased and happy. It's a great unit and works wonderfully. I'd definitely recommend it to anybody looking to upgrade their system.
Great unit I just bought this product and I'll say for the price it's well worth it easy to install menu is easy to navigate but the one thing i hate is if you dont have a lot of space behind the deck its going to be a very and i mean very tight fit if only pioneer could come up with a way where you could just plug one singal wire harness for everthing.

pioneer p4400bh I ordered this dvd/cd player and after 6 days total it arrived at my house. After owning another in dash dvd player for less than 2 yrs before the motor went out on the screen i was worried about spending so much on another one. I took a chance and couldn't be happier. It looks great easy to navigate sound quality is impecable you can get the sound exactly how you want it with the eqsomething my other in dash lackedand the graphics look great. In short if your reading this trying to decide whether or not to spend 400+ dollars on this item do it. I read ALOT of reviews before taking the plunge but am so glad i did.

Very good player. Bought this for my brother. Very nice looking on the dash. Lot of options except the bluetooth. Excellent sound after using Auto Equalizer. I bought the mic separately. I was so impressed and bought a P4400BH for myself which is even better. It built in bluetooth and HD radio. I can use my iPhone to stream music over bluetooth and the sound quality is impressive despite the compressed bluetooth and already compressed MP3 format. I am planning to buy a P4400BH for my next car too. BTB P4400 comes with its own mic too.
Pioneer head unit Grate head unit much better than my stock one and made a big difference in sound and user friendly one of the best updates i have done ..your best bet is to get a micro bypass so you can use the dvd player with out tearing out the parking brake wires! just need some apps for it on my phone.

Excellent Head Unit The Sony XAV72BT Head Unit was a perfect fit for my 09 Nissan Altima Coupe. It's sleak and sexy and provides excellent hearing quality for MP3s DVDs CDs and iPods. great head unit with one flaw! I've been using this unit for about a week now. So far I'm very satisfied with my purchase.The unit's hooked up to Focal Polyglass component coaxial and 12 shallow sub through Alpine 4 and mono channel amps. multiple equalizer settings including manual adjustment and time alignment definitely help a lot fine tuning sound for my taste. I bought this to replace 2010 Kenwood singleDIN CD player with bluetooth. I never knew replacing head unit could drastically change sound quality. I drive a small hatchback and now it feels like I'm in Suburban. Sony somehow brings wider bigger soundstage than other units from different manufacturers. I've had Clarion Fujitsu Ten Eclipse A/V units along with Pioneer Panasonic and Kenwood CD players. Sony definitely brings different kind of sound to the cabin. I mean it in a good way. Bluetooth works like charm. About a sec after turning on ignition my iphone's paired up with the unit and ready to go. Playing music wirelessly sounds amazing and there's no hint of any sound loss. Video files stored in my phone play with good picture clarity. This is a great A/V player with amazing sound staging and great bluetooth functionality with one flaw! Many reviewers mentioned about lag jumping from one page to another.
Defective I installed this item into my truck in about 40 degree weather. The system was working fine until I actually turned the heater on to which the system warmed up and the screen started turning off and back on repeatedly until it would stay off for good until I let it cool off. The radio or mp3 would still play but the screen would just do it's thing. Unfortunately my circumstances do not allow me to get a refund with amazon's return policy. Sometimes it sucks being military but I found a replacement that I hope I will be very satisfied with. I'm sure this is just a factory defect and doubt that this is a usual occurrence seeing that I could not find any useful information located on Google. I give it a 4 star by reading previous comments. The touch screen is a little slow while it is working but I can manage. Other than that I wish that this worked as it should I believe it is a great buy.

Like it I had purchased a different stereo not long before this one and HATED it. Don't buy Jensen! Had problems from the get go but I was really excited about this unit. Couple of things I don't like is that it takes a while to change songs when you hit next. It does not dim very much and your phone book can not be set with names. All in all I really like this unit.
Blu Tooth Phone Feature Horrible I had this unit professionally installed in my 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer. I do MLM for a living so the BluTooth phone feature is very important to me. The sound quality is extremely poor. You WILL NOT be able to use this to communicate with ANYONE! Everything else works pretty fine. The navigation menu is kind of slow when you tap on something and this unit has freezed on me a few times.
Should have bought something else I have hated this head unit from day one. First of all bluetooth does not work at all for my iPhone 4 for Verizon. Second the touch screen is absolutely horrible. I press the next song button on the screen and it selects the fast forward instead even when my finger is touching to the farthest right of the button. I have tried even setting the screen again and again but still it does not work. Thirdly no firmware updating the horrible software at all? Still? Really? Come on Kenwood you are supposed to be a reputable company but I should have bought an Alpine or something much better than this unit. I was planning on taking it back to pay a little more for a much better unit but I didn't want to go through the hassle of waiting another whole day for the guys at the audio store to disconnect reacquire the mounting like they had to do with this one and go through all that again. I just made do. Already had to send the unit back to Kenwood to get another one because my iPod on the screen was showing one artist and when I chose that artist to play it played a completely different artist and genre altogether. They told me this is a known issue and can only be fixed by sending in the head unit and getting another one that had been updated.
Easy to use very nice sound great product The graphics are not complicated and make it easy to see what you're doing. The sound is very good and I also bought a backup camera and the GPS module for it and they worked extremely well. I'm very happy with this and would recommend.
Pathetic bluetooth Nice unit with good sound and easy menu navigation. I concur with the other review that the unit is extremely bright at night without much ability to dim. This is a nice unit if you don't need Bluetooth telephone and don't care if it can't be fixed if you have a problem.The Bluetooth microphone is the Achilles heel for this unit. It was terrible from the start. The unit is only one week old and when talking to anyone on the Bluetooth telephone they can barely hear you and the sound is extremely tinny. It is so bad that virtually every other word is unintelligible. I had the unit professionally installed and the mike put near the rear view mirror.The case against this unit was sealed after multiple calls/emails to the Kenwood Service Center and to Tech Support. I have serious questions as to whether any of these people know what they are doing. Tech Support #1 said there is a firmware patch to fix the problem if they knew it was a problem why didn't they fix it earlier as I bought it at Fry's and they have a large turnover of merchandise so it wasn't on the shelf long. Tech Support #2 said they didn't have a firmware for this model. So I talk with customer service. Customer service person #1 said IF there is any firmware upgrades I have to ship the unit back to the factory service center for repair and if not the Service Center would have to see if a repair is possible. Customer Service #2 said since it was so new return it to the dealer. I tried to get them to ship me a new unit with the fix but they won't do that too much trouble.So I am returning the unit to Fry's and am going to buy a different brand. Poor customer service just clinched the deal for a different manufacturer.
pacific user this brand new kenwood ddx 418 is great I bought this last week and installed in my toyota sienna xle with dvd entertainment and back up camera navigation toothus my sienna turn to xle limited thanks to this kind of high tech electronics stuffs all is working good.Ill rate this ddx 418 five star and highly recommended to all gadgets fanatics.so hurry get one to your car or suv.

Well it works like it should picture is very clear and crisp sound is GREAToh yeah it is made by Pyle yes and it is pretty nice for the price being under 200 bucks.I also bought the koolertron backup camera SWEEEEET it was 18 bucks here on amazon . The only thing the manual does not tell you about a few wires and where they go or what they do??/such as IR in A/D A/D grnd and the reverse wire.
great raido i bought this item on tuesday and i installed it yesterday. the radio works great. i put this on my 2002 Honda Civic. I had no problems when putting it on.
Nice for the Price This Double Din workday real good. The fault there is a little static when Ipod is on the loop. Other than that gray light great sound. For the price you pay for it this item is very good. It has upgraded since the last one I bpuht in 2009. It is an easy set up. So I would recommend anyone buying one.

Overall great value Well I just installed it today and for the price it is a great stereo. The installation manual was no help oh wait thats right there WASN'T ONE! You'll have to just go off of your old stereo and just match up color to color.After it was all hooked up the DVD had no picture because of the safety in it so you can't watch a movie while you drive. So again with no installation manual it was trial and error to get the picture to come up was finally able to figure it out. In the source menu there are alot of options such as bluetooth but I couldn't figure it out! There is a Mic on the front of the stereo but have not been able to get the bluetooth function to work. If there is no bluetooth function then don't put a bluetooth function icon in the menu. Other than that the picture quality for the DVD is great and the sound quality is excellent! Overall it is a great buy.
Have to give at least 1 star We got this because of price the price was right but if your looking to not spend alot of money this is not the right product for you In the long run it cost alot because it does not come with adapters gps xm radio or any of the extra antennas. The touch is not very good on the screen there is not a dim switch so it is very bright at night almost blinding. The product is very big so be ready to hack your car to get it to fit. we also bought the headrest and you can not listen to the radio if you are watching a dvd in the back seat. and you can not put your screen to sleep when a dvd is in so you get a extreme bright blue screen! you will spend less if you just spend a little more.
Pyle Stereo Great stereo for the price. Decent picture and sound. But when attached to ipod there is a substantial amount of background noise and could def use a few extras like some sort of visualization to accompany the music.

Wonderful Upgrade from '05 Pilot OEM system! To be clear up front I am not a huge audiophile. I enjoy good sounding stereos but I don't have the money nor the desire to get 1000+ watt stereos for a car.Before installing this stereo I also had never installed anything electrical in any of the cars I've ownedI've been too nervous about making an expensive mistake to try this before.I got this stereo after researching many double DINsized CD receivers with USB/iPod control ability. This was a very inexpensive set less that $200 that had all the features I wanted. I didn't wantnor did I needa receiver with indash DVD receiver or navigation ability.With a seperate wiring harness I bought one from Metra for less than $10 installation was a snap. The JVC stereo installation instructions are very clearbut I will highly recommend reading through the installation instructions once or twice to get your bearings before you begin installation. I did this very thing and spent more time splicing wires together the wiring harness to the stereo than I did with the actual installation. Most of my time ironically was spent watching YouTube videos on how to solder wires together as I mentioned above this was my first time. It really is simplebut intimidating if you've never done it before.I hooked all of it together with the mounting kit I bought again a Metra kitfabulous! and put the new stereo in my Pilot. The sound is much better than the OEM stereoeven without the OEM subwoofer in the cargo areaand I'm now able to play my iPod/iPhone music without having to worry about constantly finding empty FM frequencies.Some cons1. With this stereo you can no longer use the factory subwoofer without a separate amplifier. I've not found this to be a problem but if you can't live without the subwoofer make sure you get an aftermarket amp.2. I know of no aftermarket stereo that can take advantage of the OEM indash 6disc CD changer. If you own a 2005 Pilot like mine you can order the Pilot LX shelving unit that goes where the CD changer is. Then remove the CD changer and put in the shelving unit and you're good to go.3.
I love the sound from the HD radio stations. I love the sound from the HD radio stations. It fit in my Suburban just fine. My only wish would be a better buttons. They are made with cheap plastic. I do have a lot of kids so I need things that can withstand a little abuse. It is holding up just fine and sounds great.
Love it!!! I can't believe how good this thing sounds. I thought I was going to have to get new speakers in my Nissan Sentra. The old JVC radio I had made everything sound so thin and far away. This one is full of punch wonderful separation delicious musicality. It has 18 presets that are easy enough to get to. The first six each have their own button. The HD radio is fantastic in Los Angeles. There are so many commercialfree HD stations that play a much better selection of music than you get on analog radio. I also picked this particular unit because it will remember HD stations that you find. Absolutely love this radio.

Fits my 2006 Toyota Highlander Fits great in my 2006 Toyota Highlander with the appropriate trim pieces and wiring harness. I used the Metra 958202 Toyota DDIN Multi Dash Kit to fill the gaps on the left and right follow the directions it was easy just trim the extra back piece off like the document says. And the Metra 701761 Radio Wiring Harness For Toyota 87Up Power 4 Speaker. These two plugs worked great. Not sure what the third connector from my stock radio was for but so far it hasn't been necessary.Trying to figure out mp3 navigation from my USB drive not as trivial as others I've used so far.
Pissed Off The clock doesn't display when the radio is off!!!The volume for some unknown reason randomly goes to zero while listening to the radio or C D player.I have to keep turning it up till it decides to stay put for a short while.It is a piece of junk!!I don't know who to call since it was purchased from another web site via Amazon.com!!!!!!!Alsothe expense of having it removed and reinstalled is a burden on me I guess.I won't ever buy anything else from Amazon.
Which Came First the Chicken or the Egg? In preparation for the purchase of upgrades to my car stereo system I've read more product reviews than I care to admit. Folks that have posted reviews tend to attribute the improved performance of their car stereo to the addition of one particular component of their system radio/receiver amplifier or speakers. I guess that if you add just one of these components to an existing system you've got a baseline to assess the improvement or the lack of improvement attributed to a particular component. Me I dropped in all three at once into my '07 RAV4 JVC KWHDR720 receiver SC60 Boston Acoustics component speakers SC65 two way speakers and an Alpine MRPF300 amplifier. Stir it all up and what do you get phenomenal sound at an affordable price. The only short coming is the JVC KWHDR720 receiver. Navigating the menu to setup the receiver is overly complicated. Nevertheless five stars all around. And the review that claimed the Alpine MRPF300 amplifier overheats. Mine stays cucumber cool.
BEWARE DO NOT BUY Upon receiving this unit I installed it immediately and the radio tuner lasted all of 10 seconds. So I shipped it to the authorized service center at MY expense and received it 3 weeks later. Immediately installed it for the second time and the radio function lasted all of TWO weeks the second time. Now they are telling me to ship it back AGAIN and wait 34 weeks for it to return. This would be a awesome unit if it stayed working. Mine must have been made on a Monday or a Friday. Save yourself the grief and buy something else.
Everything I wanted Installed this in a Ford Ranger after modifying the radio bevel. This unit works very well and is very easy to use. I really like the ability to change the color of the display.
