What I Needed For Hurricane Season When the broadcast system in the US went digital my old battery powered portable television became useless. I searched the internet for an alternative and found this unit to be the sole candidate at a reasonable cost. All the other choices required batteries to be recharged after a few hours of operation. In 2004 we were without power for more than a week twice because of hurricane damage. The GPX BT780B runs on C batteries. It's great that for only a little more money than a portable TV you get an am/fm radio a cd and dvd player. I hope I don't need to use the battery function for a long time but I'm sure I'll enjoy this unit in fair weather too. My only real dislike is the lettering on the remote. It's virtually invisible.
Mostly ok but TV flopped back and forth Received item as advertised and everything worked but the TV is poorly mounted on top of the boom box with no support. If you carefully balance it it could stand up for viewing but if touched lightly it would flop forward or backward fally flat and unwatchable unless you want to stand over the boombox and look down at it. Returned it to vendor without a problem but vendor requires notification within 14 days if there is a problem. As it arrived when I was away I barely had time to discover the problem and report it.

Pues resultó que todo era como alli se anunciaba no he tenido ningún mal funcionamiento en más de dos meses desde la compra y estoy encantado al ver la brillante reproducción de películas o la TV es sorprendentemente buena además que el TV puede buscar automáticamente las televisoras del cable o locales y las guarda por números de canales y no por frecuencia de transmisión como muchos productos de origen de China. Esto ultimo permite ver lo canales por los números establecidos por el sistema de cable y no desordenados como los productos de China. Además el radio tiene una recepción también superior. Esos otros productos tienen una recepción pobre y cuesta mucha la sintonización. Finalmente la pantalla se gira y se coloca hacia izquierda o derecha permitiendo mucha comodidad para verlo desde cualquier ubicación sin problemas. Solo una cosa puede ser vista como dessventaja el sonido no tiene mucha ganancia pero sin embargo no distorsiona a máximo volumen.
this doesnt work I use the radio to this player but the dvd part never wants to work. I am using the remote for the first time today and the it will not open. I paid too much for this for it not to be working.
Nice features but very poor quality This was our third and last attempt to buy a portabe tv/dvd/cd boombox on Amazon. This model came closest to having all the features we wanted tv/dvd/cd/usb port/sd card reader/headphone jack/remote control and line in for mp3 player as well as battery operation capability for emergencies. The only feature it was missing is that there is no DC input for a car adapter a minor quibble if you have a power inverter in your car for AC output.But this unit screams cheapo electronics and while priced similarly was much flimsier than the other two units which were the
GPX BT780B Review This DVD/CD player is to be a Christmas gift. I wanted something that was extremely versatile and this unit appeared to be the best for the money. I have tried almost all of the functions a few times and have had no problems thus far. I believe the sound it very good and the display is extremely clear and sharp. Again I have only used it for testing but so far it is everything that I hoped for.
DON'T DO IT!!! I liked it at first but the first second time that I used it the DVD player decided that it didnt want to work and it was too late to send it back to Amazon so I had to pay to send it to DPI Inc. They sent me a new one and after using it for the third time the DVD drawer refuses to open. I have taken the greatest care of the unit I keep it covered so it doesn't get dusty. Now DPIInc. refuses to replace it. They said that I could pay to ship it back to them and pay $70 something to get a new one. And the only other thing that I can do is email the warranty department. Which I just did. So we shall see what will happen now.
All around Kick @ss lil boom box! After reviewing the GPX BT780B Portable DVD/Stereo Boombox I must say that the reviews on this item have been rather harsh. I purchased this lil bad boy for my man cave in the garage to watch dvd's listen to music while I'm working out etc. I must say for the price of a lil over $130 it is everything I expected it to be and a bit more.I'm impressed with the screen's resolution and the clear crisp sound from the FM Radio. This boom box won't throw down in a bass competition but it does what it needs to do and that's enough for me.As far as the look and feel of the boombox itself I don't know that I would call this unit cheap plastic. After all what stereo isn't made with some component of plastic? I like that this is light in weight easy to carry and functional in every aspect. Although I've only had this unit over the weekend everything that I use it for works perfectly.
great picture I bought this device for campingwanted to be able to use it without elect so being battery operated was a plus. I was impressed with the unit great picture and sound. Not happy when the device showed low battery after just watching a DVD for less than two hours when the manual states 10 hours of use. It may help to remove the batteries after use but this would be irritating. I will definitely need to invest in rechargeable batteries as replacing the 8 C batteries often is just too costly. T.J.
Great for tailgating I used this out at the new meadowlands stadium today & within 2 min. we had over 20 stations that came in clear. It was amazing how good the picture quality was from the NY & NJ stations. The audio was good but I have not had a chance to test all of the audio features. I would give it five stars but I feel it might not last very long lots of plastic.But for $140.00 it will be great for football games Go jets2/12 The only change is the audio is good for tv tailgating but not loud enough for music. Still gets 3.5 stars.

I was surprised when it came in though. The gooseneck is pretty sturdy and stays erect as it should.I have a 2001 VW Jetta and it stays in there all the time. The phone doesn't move around when inside. It fits snug. The radio transmitter works quite well. No static or noises. In my opinion it is a great buy. Not what was pictured I ordered this product based on the picture of one very similar to a device I looked at in a retail environment. The one I received was NOT the one in the pictures and the FM transmitter was horrible. Most of all I liked the feature of how the sides clamped and kind of ratcheted down on the sides of the phone. You can see in the pictures there is a release button on the bottom right of the device and it was spring loaded. Not the one I received from this order. The sides simply moved in and out manually no release button. And the last was I pressed the button to retract the screen it retracted it alright but when I tried to get the screen to come back out all it did was muting the sound of the unit but the screen never came out again. Short Life I bought this player in mid July and the kids used it until about the first of October and it gave up the ghost it will no longer read a DVD. Amazon's return window was up in August. I will need to check the Manufactuer Website to see if there is any resolution available. Thsi is the second of this type of DVD player I have owned and they all appear to be very poor quality. It worked for our vaca but not long after I researched MANY dual dvd players and all I could find were unreliable reviews on tons of dual dvd players. I did not want to spend a ton of money especially with the reviews being so bad so I was really attempting to find a cheaper one so if it broke oh well it wasn't so expensive. I finally found the Axion brand which I had never heard of but it had good reviews although not a ton of reviews. Originally I thought this was an EXCELLENT purchase. We have had it over a month and used it on a 14 hour trip to North Carolina and back and have for several smaller car rides as well. It has worked without problems and my daughter LOVED it. It was easy to install easy to change dvd's and the remote will come in handy in the future. THENit stopped playing any DVD we had and said no disc. We tried brand new ones right out of the package as well as others and it would play NOTHING. It was a lifesaver for the trip but had no longevity at all. Would not say a total waste because it kept me sane for a long car ride but I wish I was still able to use it. 2 broken devices in 4 months When my old Axion dualscreen player broke I bought this new model to replace it. It broke after 4 or 5 uses. Given my good experience with the prior Axion model I ordered another. This one wasnt working from the start. We got halfway through the first movie and it stopped at the beginning of the 18 hours of driving we had scheduled over Thanksgiving. I'm not going to buy another of these given the average breakdown of every two uses in my experience with this model. We stopped at a bigbox store and bought a Philips that has better sound better picture and got us through the rest of the trip. Great value! Bought this for a long road trip to entertain the kids. I wasn't sure what to expect as far as quality goes due to the low price but there was nothing to worry about. Makes my life easier on long car rides I've had this DVD player for four months now and have had no technical difficulties. It is easy to install and remove even in creative places. My toddler is rear facing and the strap on the second DVD screen allowed me to hang it under the mirror I use to see her. The main unit hangs on the back of the driver's headrest as intended and has a remote that is easy enough to use that my 6 year old hasn't had any trouble using it. The cord that connects the main unit to the second one is long enough that it ran along the seat and not where my toddler can grab it I drive a compact car. Both screens have a good picture and great sound. Yes a good picture it's no HDTV but it will do just fine and neither the 18 month old nor the 6 year old seem to have any issue with it. It was a touch hard for my 6 year old to change the disks at first but after doing it a couple times she got the hang of it and now does it like a pro. In fact I place the main unit on the bathroom floor when I shower to keep the little one out of trouble and she's figured out how to open it and change disks too. The six year old complained that they have to watch the same movie but as I pointed out when we had a single screen they had to any way. Plus I wouldn't want little kids with headphones on so they just have to take turns with what they watch. The only thing that I don't like is that there is no battery backup so each time you stop the disk starts over. For the price and quality I'm ok with no battery but it's the one thing that I wish it did. DIDN'T WORK RIGHT OUT OF THE BOX! After researching for a week these were the players we chose for a trip with our toddlers. We took them out of the box and tested them and they only worked for a few minutes before all of a sudden shutting off. We tried to turn them on again and neither player would turn on until we unplugged the second screen and then only the first player would work. When we tried to plug the second player back in it didn't work at all and the first player kept shutting on and off. I can't remember the last time I bought something brand new and it didn't work right out of the box. Maybe ours was just defective but obviously I can't recommend this product to anyone. Freezes midmovie Purchased this for long trips in the car. All movies freeze midway through playing. Of course we find this out 3 days after our return window closes. Decent for the price. Had a couple problems with it. Bought this to keep our grandchildren entertained while we traveled to a distant campground. It was easy to install and our 6yearold grandson quickly learned how to operate it. However there were times when there was no sound. If they changed DVD's it was fine and then usually if they went back to the first DVD the sound worked. I wish there was a way to protect the screensmaybe design so they could flip to a covered position. All in all we are generally pleased with the product. So far so good I bought this for my twin 6 year old daughters to use on a long road trip. So far as long as all of the wires are connected properly everything has been great. Connections/dvd access are easy enough for my daughters to figure out. Hopefully will be working well for many years. Most importantly it started freezing up when reading MP3 files from the SD Card So I sent this unit back for a refund CarAudioDeals who I purchased unit from through Amazon.com was great in refunding my money!
