  • Terribke Product This system is garbage after 1 yr and 5 months the system started to just restart itself over and over again. They tried to blame it on the install which was done professionally but I have looked it up and this is a common problem of course they want you to pay $200 to fix it after I paid $850. The software they have is garbage and even trying to do the updates is a challenge. Do yourself a favor buy anything but a pioneer NAVI system or use your money to go on a nice vacation. I just through a lot of money out the window for this terrible product.
Save your Money This receiver was a problem from the start. I had to send it back to Pioneer to be fixed and they sent me somebody else's in return which was older based on the serial number. Slow start up and freezes at times. When the unit worked it worked well. But it should have worked all the time. That's why I paid for a Pioneer and not a Jensen.
Avoid this product AVICF700BT if you can I have not found other incar product as annoying to use as this one. The GPS features are much inferior to other products such as Magellan. The audio sound quality is bad. You can't turn off the radio with a single click anywhere. This is especially annoying during the period when the system is slowly starting up. The bluetooth annoys your listener even more than it does to you. The GPS navigation is way too chatty speaking 5 phrases every single turn. It pronounces 156th Ave as one fifty six tee aych avenue what an idiot!. The iPod player cannot display nonalphnumeric characters for song titles and I was told Pioneer would never support such feature. You cannot select a routing algorithm by trip. You cannot mute or change the volume of the GPS sound without parking your car first. Even when you are not using the GPS you will get a loud GPS signal lost warning occasionally. The UI user interface is obviously designed by programmers who have no clue about what a basic tolerable user experience should be. I wished I had tried the product before paying for the installation. I thought all such incar products should have passed some basic usability check and boy was I wrong.I already upgraded to the latest firmware hoping for improvements but had seen none. I would not buy another Pioneer product even if they pay me.
wasted my time Don't buy this if you ever listen to sports or talk radio on AM. There is no reception. I spent a week in and out of the shop with no results.
Basically A Good Unit But With Quirks That Might Drive You Insane Read the Reviews Carefully Before You Buy First understand this is not a car stereo/GPS unit. It's a computer with audio and GPS capabilities meaning that it has to boot before it works. With the latest firmware upgrade mine boots in 4560 seconds.HighsAwesome sound.Excellent GPS if antenna installed properly. I've been especially pleased with the you need to be in one of these lanes feature at freeway interchanges.
Good system for the money I have owned this for a little over a year now it was a Christmas gift in 2008. I love fact that it is all in one and most of the time moving between features XM to maps to GPS is fairly straightforward. I also like that the XM info is so detailed much more so than with the portable unit I used before. On the whole I am happy I bought it though I have a few wish list things I wish it did or didn't do.Issues I have with itThe GPS system talks too much. It tells you to turn left in ### miles quarter miles and feet multiple times. I haven't figured out a way to shut it up so if someone else who owns it has please share.
It's been in the shop 3 times in a 3 yr span I have never seen anything like this. First time we had to take it back for repair it was only 4 months old so after several weeks waiting they decided to replace it with a refurbished unit it worked for about a 20 months but for no rhyme or reason it would not boot up so it went back to the Pioneer repair center and they repaired one more time this time I had to wait 4 weeks. 10 months later I had to send it in again. I would change products but unfortunately I purchased several of the options like the steering wheel control iPod connection and Bluetooth.
Good Overall Once you update to FW 3.0 the system is great.
Several issues No maps from outside US The product functionality is great. The concept the value for the money. But the unit has several quality issues. My bluetooth stopped working after a year use and had to send it for service cause it started to boot over and over. Hope pioneer improves these products. Honestly I would think twice after buting another unit from them.
TOTAL PIECE OF JUNK! I bought this unit to replace my wife's stock radio. Installation went smoothly the most difficult part was removing the trim. THEN I TURNED IT ON AND IT WENT DOWNHILL FROM THERE! First it would reboot whenever we had the iPod playing video then it would reboot even if the iPod was connected and not playing and then it continued to freeze and reboot regardless of function selected. I sent it in to service under warranty with the entire litany of problems and they reinstalled the memory and called it good. THEY HAD IT IN REPAIR FOR ONE WHOLE HOUR!!! And since I couldn't get the time to tear apart the dash again and install it within the 90 day warranty period it'll cost me $200 to have it fixeda feat they have yet to show that they're capable of doing.
