Feels cheap but works fine We got this to entertain our toddler on a long flight. It feels cheap thick light etc. But for the price it was exactly what we wanted. It plays DVDs without issues. It does skip easily so every time our toddler whacked it it froze for a few seconds. We haven't used it long enough yet to test the battery life but does need to be charged before first use.
Poor quality and poor warranty My wife purchased this through a different site back in September 2011 and gave it to our daughter for Xmas. It worked for one day and then stopped working completely. My wife called Sylvania up and they said that the 90 day warranty had expired and they we could mail them $45 along with the unit to have them try to repair it.Terrible customer service I would discourage customers from purchasing products made by this company.
Audio extremely weak good otherwise Just picked this up at Walmart for $39 not even on sale! Everything seems fine on it the picture is excellent. The menu highlighting is extremely subtle though you have to really squint to see it. But mainly the audio volume even on full is very quiet both through the tinny speakers and even worse with the included phones. So I just ordered one of those tiny $7 inline amps through Amazon which should solve the headphone volume problem. Otherwise I'm quite happy with it.
DVD Player I am happy with this portable DVD player. It is easy to operate and has good picture and sound. I bought this player as a gift and my aunt and she is happy with it.
OK for widescreen what about my old 43 movies? I like this product but was disappointed to find I cannot properly play my fullscreen movies/tv shows ones that were intended to be 43 like old movies. It distorts these movies and it is unwatchable. I thought there was a way in the setup menu to fix this but apparently not.
Works Great I have had this DVD player since Christmas 2011. I use it everyday and it works great. I have had no trouble with it. I did not like the headphones that came with the product but my own work very well and sound is great. Volume is weak if listening through DVD speakers. Fine if listening through the earphones but usually have to keep it up as high as it will go.
Cute Little DVD Player I bought this DVD player to take on a trip to Haiti. It arrived yesterday. I charged the battery and I am now in the process of testing how long the charge will last. It has been running DVD'd for the past 2 hrs and 10 minutes and it is still going strong. The sound is good for it's size. The picture quality is also good for the size and price. I am very happy with it. It came with the wall plug a plug for a cigarette lighter a remote and earphones. I can hear a slight humming as it plays but it is not loud enough to bother me.
Love it! My 4 yr old son got this from Santa for Christmas and loves it. Works well and seems more durable than those we have had in the past. Good value for the price. The only downside is we cannot seem to connect to our larger TV as we can with the Coby brand.
Great product but volume isn't loud enough. I bought this for an elderly aunt with an extended hospital stay. The player is easy to use and works very well it was easy for my aunt to find the Closed Captioning and other options. The volume wasn't loud enough however even with earphones.
don't buy if you plan on connecting via a tv set using an rca plug doesnt work! works ok seems like a good player have had it for a about a month HOWEVER if you plan on trying to plug into your large TV to watch a video via the a/v out with the RCA cables that come with it you may be dissapointed!Mine doesnt work. I cant see a picture or hear sound and I tried several different cables and tv to troubleshoot it. I plan on returning it and getting a refund.
