  • Everything I wanted When I was looking I had a few items that were important to me. I wanted good sound bluetooth music streaming as well as handsfree with an external mic a subwoofer connection the ability to use it on the road without worrying about complex menus and the ability to easily switch back and forth from my wife's phone to mine. After checking out reviews user manuals and playing with a few models instore this guy won handily.I've been nothing but happy with it so far. We can switch easily between phones it displays our names and all we have to do is click on the phone we want to use. The GPS works great the sound is lovely and the UI is snappy. We tested several units in the store that were sluggish but this guy responded quickly to all our button presses. A responsive UI is a requirement for me I want to spend as little time thinking about my radio as possible while I'm driving.Something I found neat is that when I hook the iPhone up via USB album art work displays on the screen. While that is no where near a necessity it is a neat little feature. Using the iPhone from the receive isn't bad. I have tons of music over 30GB on an iPhone 4S and I have had no problem finding an album and getting it to play. It isn't as smooth and lovely as navigating the iPhone directly but it gets the job done without too much fuss.Oh another fun feature is that with the right cable you can display movies on the screen from your iPhone. This is a feature I tested to make sure it works but I am almost never sitting around in the car long enough for this to be useful.
Very good unit. I recently purchased and installed this head unit in my Jeep and am very pleased. It sounds great and is very easy to use. The response time between screens is quick and seamless. There are only a couple little things that I am not crazy about the blue tooth works great in the Jeep but you can't voice dial anyone or I have not figured out how to yet. It also does not allow you to pick up another call when you are currently on a call. But it works incredibily well integrating with music and GPS all at the same time. The GPS works super as well entering in addresses is a bit odd at first but makes sense once you get used to it.I would definately recommed this product to anyone.
    Radio
Pretty cool unit for less $$$ than many others This is the first Navigation unit I have owned so my opinion is not based on a lot of comparative experience. I did learn some things that I didn't know before going into this.1 My Ford truck has the SYNC system and the stock radio is highly integrated with the vehicle and the SYNC system. Putting in an aftermarket system is more complicated than just a straight up swap. You need to get all the crap that connects the radio to the SYNC so that SYNC still works required for safety reasons.2 #1 lead to a bunch of other issues I wasn't expecting. A you cannot connect the factory backup camera to this radio because it's integrated with SYNC. B Although all of the Sirius stuff was already there you cannot use it because it's integrated with SYNC now I have 2 satellite antennas on the roof3 SYNC no longer has its stock radio to work with so it behaves badly at times. For example it continuously scans and tries to connect bluetooth devices. This causes problems with my blackberry which works fine with the JVC unit but is constantly interrupted by SYNC.None of this is the fault of the JVC just a warning that getting the JVC to work requires your vehicle to cooperate. On the good side..I had the steering wheel control installed and it actually works really well. It does much more than the factory controls were able to do.THE SD CARD IS AMAZING!! All of my cd's on the SD card that slides into the removable faceplate. Supereasy!! Navigating through the files on the card is really easy and has brought my extensive library of discs back to life. The navigation is pretty cool but i haven't really been able to put it to a test in an unknown area yet.
Love it Works great! Bluetooth technology is awesomecan listen to my music pandora or make calls via Bluetooth. Sync's with iPhone's easily. Can only sync with one phone at a time but stores multiple phones. GPS seems to work goodhaven't used it much yet.
You can't beat this radio I have used this JVC radio for 3 months now and I really like the features. I got the IPOD cable and a backup camera to use with this radio. I have been happy with the functions of the radio and after getting use to the GPS I have found it to be as acurrate as the Garmin I have used for years. There are a few things I would like the GPS to do that I think a software update would fix 1 is to have the speed limit of my vehicle displayed 2 is to have the GPS work automatically with time zones when trips arrival times and the system time is set. The GPS system knows this data so why not display it on the screen. Once I got familiar with the menus it is fairly easy to move between functions but it does take a little time to get through the screens because there are so many features. The back up camera I purchased failed within 3 days but the camera manf. replaced it with no problem. The radio installed fairly easy in my 2007 Ford Fusion however the GPS link cable barely made it to the rear trunk lid. It can be mounted in other places but I wanted it outside the car and out of sight as much as possible.
